The Shotwell Family Sendoff! {Georgetown/Lexington Photographer} {Central Kentucky Photographer}

It’s not every day I get to shoot a big family session. For the most part lately my time is spent chasing a toddler or posing a newborn.

However, this session was a bit different and very special for this sweet family. The Shotwell’s were sending their son back to the Air Force, where he is stationed in Las Vegas. I can only imagine what a sendoff must feel like… being a mother myself, of a two-year-old boy that I adore and can’t even fathom the thought of being separated for miles and miles. They scheduled a session prior to his departure and like many families with older children, hadn’t had pictures taken together in years. Since the session was set up sort of last minute, we decided to do the session here in Georgetown, KY.

This is truly the reason I love photography! Being able to capture life moments in “still” that can’t be replayed otherwise – something we all treasure. Family photography is so interesting, as I am able to get to know and interact with everyone!

Looking forward to begin booking spring family sessions:)
